Flickr

Have studied Flickr and set up my account. When I looked for "library" and "librarian" something that stood out was how old the photos were. The last photo for library was June 2007 and for librarian it was Oct. 2006.

Enjoyed browsing through the Library of Congress.

Still contemplating how we can use this for staff and patrons.

As far as the age of the pictures goes, when you first do a search in Flickr, the images are sorted by "relevancy" -- which is, I believe, defined by number of views, number of comments, and number of people who "favorited" a given picture. So naturally, those up longer would have had more of a chance to get seen or receive reactions than stuff put up within the last month. You can resort at the top by recency instead; I found several uploaded just today.
